National Museum of African American Music Opens!
Years of research, design, filming, animation and pure dedication the National Museum of African American Music has finally opened its doors! The team at Videobred and I were honored for the opportunity to create the 7 films that are featured in the thoughtfully designed galleries that make up the experience. As the director of these films, I worked with the writers, historians, image researchers and animators to use design, storytelling bring these films to life. Each gallery was as unique as the genre of music - screens that disperse up the wall like a cascade of notes for Jazz or stack on top of one another like a collection of records for Pop Music. From gospel to hip-hop, we used rich imagery, design and narration to tell the story. CNN did a feature on the museum that gives a lovely introduction to the experience. Enjoy!
